After a comprehensive examination, if vision therapy is recommended, the doctor creates an individualized plan of visual exercises and activities to improve visual function.
Vision therapy is a combination of in-office activities performed with therapists and at home activities. Similarly to starting a new workout program with a trainer or learning a new instrument with an music instructor, new concepts are taught and goals are set at the in office therapy sessions. At home therapy exercises are then used to support and strengthen these new concepts or goals.
